Electric fastback and hybrid SUV at a charging plaza

EV vs Hybrid: Which One Is Right for You?

The honest answer is that it depends almost entirely on where you park at night.

Go electric if

  • You can charge at home or at work
  • Most of your driving is under 200 km a day
  • Your local electricity is cheaper than petrol per kilometre

Go hybrid if

  • You have no reliable home charging
  • You do long, unpredictable trips
  • You want lower fuel bills without changing how you refuel

Running costs

EVs win on fuel and servicing. Hybrids win on flexibility. Both beat a pure petrol car in city traffic.

What about resale?

Battery health is now the first thing a used EV buyer asks about. Keep your charging records and avoid habitually charging to 100 percent.
